It feels like I’m writing from the future as I type up this blog post from my iPad and although this site has been moved to chairmanting.com I have absolutely no reason to write on here anymore. Doing this to just totally relish in this cool wordpress iPad app.

Playing Nowland, originally uploaded by Carson Ting.

Had an urge to do a quick sketch up of Mr. Nowland playing his electronic instruments tonight while working on the Raw Canvas collaboration video. Stay tuned.

Come down to Raw Canvas at 1046 Hamilton St. Yaletown, Vancouver to see me and Mike Nowland freestyle a wall mural. Tom Pettapiece will also be there doing a live music set. The event starts at 7pm this Saturday, April 24th 2010. For more details, please visit raw-canvas.com or call them up at 604-687-1729. Hope to see you all there!

BottleTing is an experimental glass bottle illustration series that I’ve recently started as a personal side art project. ‘Upside Up’ is the first of the series and it took approximately 3-4 hours including the coating of the base colour.

I had loads of fun working on Jive Talk’s first EP, ‘Welcome to Jiveland’.
Jive Talk is an up and coming band out of Vancouver, B.C. Their sound is a combination of Funk, Rock, Jazz, blues and maybe elements of Punk. Together it will be known as Plasmic Jive.

Check them out on Myspace:

And I believe you can buy their EP @ Zulu

Hello T.O. – Rethink is here., originally uploaded by Carson Ting.

It’s official. Rethink opens it’s Toronto office today.
This is an illustration I did for the site.

Here’s an article from the Financial Post.

A wall mural illustration time-lapse video that I did with MIke Nowland of Company Policy was picked up by IdN, International Designers Network for their editorial spread about Hand Drawn Animation. We were ecstatic when the editor called us about doing a story on our wall mural.

‘404 Beach’ was a collaborative project by Mike Nowland, Tom Pettapiece and myself, Carson Ting.
